E-Notes: Watson, North near perfect at Legends

• Look out for the team of Tom Watson and Andy North this week at the Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf. While it was unofficial, they won the team title the past three years in the event without making a single bogey.

• The Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf has proven to be an apt name with past winners including Hall of Fame members Sam Snead, Roberto De Vicenzo, Tommy Bolt, Gene Littler, Billy Casper, Julius Boros, Lee Trevino, Hubert Green and Hale Irwin.

• We missed this one a few weeks ago, but wanted to note that Jim Colbert played in his 1,000th career PGATOUR/Champions Tour event at The Cap Cana Championship. He's the ninth player to reach that milestone.

• Tom Watson's victory last week at the Outback Steakhouse Pro-Am was his 50th combined win on the PGA TOUR (39) and Champions Tour (11).

• Mike Hulbert made a strong debut last week on the Champions Tour finishing in a T8 at the Outback Steakhouse Pro-Am.
