Favorite all-time Ohio State Buckeye athlete

"There's a bunch of good ones but I'd say Archie Griffin. Everyone knows about his two Heisman trophies but he's a quality person in general. As head of the Buckeye Association, he means quite a bit to the university. I don't know if there's a bigger alumni association in the world. He's a quality individual and does so much for the school."

Best advice you've ever gotten

"I think my father once told me that if I was going to do something, I needed to commit to it. If you can't commit to what you're doing, you are better off not doing it at all. Don't give half an effort. Always give more effort than is expected."

How important was golfing great Ken Venturi to your career?

"He actually still is my mentor. Over the years, I've gotten hundreds of hours of great advice from him, both on the course and off. Everything I've done on the course is attributed to Ken Venturi. He taught me about respect, about the history of the game and those who came before me and taught me how to treat people. I couldn't have a better role model."

Any mulligans in your PGA TOUR career?

"There's two and they both happened in 1992. The first came at the British Open at Muirfield where I missed a short putt on the 71st hole. If I make that putt, I'm up two strokes with just one hole to play. The next was my second shot into the 18th hole at Bellerive at the PGA Championship. I was playing with Nick Price, the eventual winner, and if I would have hit it close on the last hole, it might have put some pressure on him. He was facing a very difficult third shot to try and save a par and my second shot into the final green was disappointing."

One thing about you that not many people know...

"I'm a rapid Buckeye fan. My father Jim was a football coach there and he instilled in my sister and I early in our lives how important Ohio State was to our family."

Favorite golf course...

"Cypress Point by far. There are some great ones and I've been lucky to play quite a few all over the world but nothing stands out like Cypress."
