MORE TOP 100 PLAYERS: BACK to Player No. 100 | FORWARD to Player No. 98 | Top 100 Archive

For the third straight year, Bill Haas managed to finish safely in the top 125 on the money list and retain his card - topping $1 million for the first time. But the 26-year-old comes from a family with much more street cred and he'd like to take a step up in 2009. His great-uncle Bob Goalby won the 1968 Masters. His father, Jay, is a nine-time PGA TOUR winner and two-time Champions Tour Player of the Year. Living up to expectations, though, can be a difficult task. Haas has posted just seven top-10 finishes and only two among the top-five, which ironically came at the last two Viking Classics. Finding fairways -- he ranks 142nd in driving accuracy -- and converting clutch putts are key as Haas tries to make a name in 2009. -- Helen Ross

If Bill doesn't win soon, he could take that "best player not to win" title from No. 98 Brett Quigley in a few years.
