Rich Beem has gotten used to living on the edge but he'd like nothing better than to take the pressure off himself in 2009. Beem no longer has the luxury of the five-year exemption he got for winning the 2002 PGA Championship so he has to keep his eye on the magic 125 again. He finished 140th in 2008 so he'll have some status, as well as that of a former champion, but playing well is its own reward. The ever-popular "Beemer" only had one top-10 last year, and his tie for third at the Wyndham Championship was his only six-figure payday. The flat stick was particularly problematic - Beem ranked 145th in putts per round and 104th in putting average. -- Helen Ross
