Everyone loves Arnie, the gentleman of the game who mentored Jack Nicklaus and holds the record that Tiger Woods is about to match, and soon, surely break.

The King of golf earned a total of 62 wins in 19 seasons on the PGA TOUR, a list that includes seven majors. Palmer's first major win was at the 1958 Masters (the event that, 39 years later, Tiger Woods would also make his first major title), and he later went on to win three more Masters green jackets. Palmer then won the U.S. Open in 1960 and two British Open titles in 1961 and 1962.

In almost two decades of success, Palmer's standout year on TOUR was 1960, when he claimed eight trophies, including two majors. Thirteen years later, Palmer earned his last PGA TOUR victory at the Bob Hope Desert Classic - two years before Tiger Woods was born.
