Paul Goydos. The veteran fired an 8-under 62 to easily make the cut and breeze into a position among the leaders heading into the weekend.

Eric Axley. The left-hander birdied the final three holes in his round to shoot 66 and sneak into the weekend at 1 under.

Ryan Palmer. Palmer birdied the hardest hole on the course -- the 515-yard, par-4 18th -- to make the cut by a shot.

Negative movers

James Driscoll. Driscoll, 132nd on the money list, shot a 69 to squeak into the weekend and earn a shot at moving into the top 125.

Steve Lowery. The three-time PGA TOUR winner fired a 64 to move from a tie for 90th into a tie for 32nd.

Brian Davis. The Englishman shot a 31 on the front side -- his final nine of the day -- to shoot 63 and move into contention.

Notable missed cuts

Rich Beem. The Beemer, 133rd on the money list, followed up his first-round 69 with a 73. He will have to head to Florida for the final two PGA TOUR events of the year to try to move into the top 125.

Kevin Stadler. The son of the Walrus might have set a PGA TOUR record -- or close to it -- by improving an incredible 20 shots over Round 1. His second round of 61 was the low round of the day, but he still finished two over after a first-round 81.
