BOGOTA, Colombia (AP) -- The uncle of PGA TOUR golfer Camilo Villegas was shot and killed Saturday after thieves tried to rob his business.

Ernesto Villegas Zuluaga, 56, was killed when two armed men entered his coffee trading enterprise demanding money and he resisted, jumping on one of assailants, according to senior Caldas state official Henry Murillo.

Relatives say Villegas is flying home to Colombia for the burial of his uncle, who was also his godfather.

Villegas became the first Colombian to win a PGA TOUR event when he captured the BMW Championship in September. He capped a standout season with a win in the following event, the season-ending TOUR Championship presented by Coca-Cola, and finished second in the FedExCup.
