Editor's note: PGATOUR.com has tried to make our experts work a little harder when they make their picks each week. The favorite can be anyone in the field, although Tiger Woods could only be used seven times during the year. Sleepers can't have won in 2008 or had a top 10 in their last five starts. A sleeper can't be ranked in the top 30 in the field, either.

Pick: Vijay Singh
Is an explanation really needed here? Singh has been unbelievable with three wins in his last five starts, including the last two weeks in a row. Or, more importantly, the first two events in the Playoffs, which means he's created a monumental task for the rest of his fellow competitors. Right now, it looks like they can start inscribing the Big Fijian's name on the Tiffany FedExCup.

Pick: Jim Furyk
It came down to Furyk or Sergio Garcia this week, but I had to go with the veteran Furyk. He tied for seventh at the Deutsche Bank Championship last week and has top-30ed in his last six tournaments. One of only two players to qualify for the U.S. Ryder Cup squad without a victory in 2008, Furyk is long overdue and could use a win to give him a little momentum heading into the biennial showdown.

Pick: Sergio Garcia
Veege is red hot. Weirsy and Ernie aren't too far behind. (None of whom we must mention have the Ryder Cup on their minds). Still, we're sticking with Sergio. Once again, he's playing too well not to have some of those putts start falling -- and soon.

Pick: Justin Leonard
The hottest U.S. player on TOUR right now will cap off a nice run to the Ryder Cup with a victory on a course that demands precision.

Pick: Vijay Singh
If you aren't picking Vijay Singh this week then you have failed to realize that he is the best putter in the world. He said that two weeks ago he decided that he was the best putter in the world and on Sunday he proved it making over 170 feet of putts in 17 holes. He chipped in for eagle on two. This week I think that I am going to decide to be young, handsome and thin. I'll let you know if it works. The other thing that Vijay seems to have decided is that he is going to walk away with the FedExCup and it doesn't look like anyone can stop him.

Pick: Sergio Garcia
If he can pull it together again for the fourth week in a row it's bound to be el niņo's time!

Pick: Sergio Garcia
Were it not for Vijay's amazing run, this is the guy we'd be gushing over right now (three top-fives in a row against elite fields. Garcia's next trophy lift can't be far off.

Pick: Padraig Harrington

I am probably overanalyzing this, but I am not going to pick Vijay Singh. He didn't like the greens at Oakland Hills, and Bellerive is another course that Rees Jones has renovated. So I am going to go with Harrington instead. I saw signs of life in that round of 6 under he shot at TPC Boston on Saturday. Not to mention, it would be a shame if the winner of the last two majors didn't get to play at THE TOUR Championship presented by Coca-Cola.

Pick: Anthony Kim
If guys are getting tired, why not go with one of the younger champs, who might be holding up better amid the Grind Slam that is the PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedExCup? Kim won't be penalized by his unfamiliarity with Bellerive Country Club because practically no one has seen it, either in its original form or since Rees Jones renovated it in 2006.

Pick: Sergio Garcia
Why? Why not. He's playing as well as anybody in the world not named Vijay. It will take a Playoff victory, maybe two, for Garcia to catch Singh. But the Spaniard has the Fijian directly in the crosshairs; they'll be paired together -- yes, again -- for the first two rounds this week. This time, Sergio will have the upper hand and close in on Vijay as I close in on Maginnes for ninth place in the standings!
