Vijay Singh, Sergio Garcia, Kevin Sutherland
Tee time:
8:25 a.m.
Tee: No. 10
Total TOUR wins: 40
Why you should watch: The three leaders in the PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedExCup have an early tee time on Friday, which is usually an advantage. A strong finish by any of these three this week would give them a stranglehold on the PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedExCup. This course sets up well for both Singh and Garcia -- TPC Boston rewards length, and the its no mystery why players like Phil Mickelson. Tiger Woods and Adam Scott have enjoyed success here.

Brandt Snedeker, Boo Weekley, Kevin Streelman
Tee time:
7:59 a.m.
Tee: No. 1
Total TOUR wins: 3
Why you should watch: It will be interesting to see if Streelman can maintain his momentum at a course he's playing for the first time as a PGA TOUR competitor. Long courses don't seem to bother Streelman very much, and they certainly don't bother Snedeker or Weekley very much. Weekley is in need of a big finish this week after missing the cut at The Barclays.

Phil Mickelson, Justin Leonard, Anthony Kim
Tee time:
1:07 p.m.
Tee: No. 1
Total TOUR wins: 48
Why you should watch: Mickelson enters the Deutsche Bank Championship as the defending champion and the likely favorite despite his T19 last week at the The Barclays. A slow start on Friday might not mean much for Mickelson -- he opened with a 70 last year only to shoot 68-66 on the weekend to win by two.

2008 Stat Comparison
Player Events Played Cuts Made 1st 2nd 3rd Top 10 Top 25 Scoring Avg.
Mickelson 18 17 2 1 -- 7 17 70.49
Leonard 21 20 1 1 -- 6 11 70.78
Kim 19 16 2 1 1 6 8 70.57
