Kenny Perry, Phil Mickelson, Padraig Harrington
Tee time:
1:16 p.m.
Tee: No. 1
Total TOUR wins: 51
Why you should watch: The three leaders in the PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedExCup had a mixed day on Thursday. Each man had 30 putts and will need to improve on that to catch the front of the field -- Hunter Mahan (62 on Thursday) had only 23 putts. Mickelson needs to make some birdies on Ridgewood C.C.'s par-5s. Surprisingly, he didn't birdie any of them in the first round.

Hunter Mahan, Briny Baird, Stephen Ames
Tee time:
1:05 p.m.
Tee: No. 1
Total TOUR wins: 4
Why you should watch: Mahan's opening 62 was partially helped by his morning tee time, when greens are softer. He will have one of the later times on Friday and should be able to keep the lead with a round in the mid-60s. A win by Mahan this week would give him the early FedExCup points lead and would also likely give him a spot on the Ryder Cup team next month at Valhalla.

Mahan 22 13 -- 1 -- 4 9 71.26
Baird 23 30 -- -- -- 3 13 70.23

Adam Scott, Chad Campbell, Jeff Quinney
Tee time:
1:16 p.m.
Tee: No. 10
Total TOUR wins: 10
Why you should watch: Scott only has one top-10 on the PGA TOUR since his playoff win in the EDS Byron Nelson Championship in April, but the Aussie has battled a nagging hand injury all summer. He finally appears to be hitting his stride again -- he fired a 68 on Thursday despite 31 putts. Scott enters the PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedExCup in 24th and could easily be one of the major movers over the next four weeks.

2008 Stat Comparison
Player Events Played Cuts Made 1st 2nd 3rd Top 10 Top 25 Scoring Avg.
Scott 12 11 1 -- -- 3 7 71.48
Campbell 22 14 -- 1 1 5 11 70.59
Quinney 23 15 -- 1 1 3 6 71.41
