Parker McLachlin notched his first victory on the PGA TOUR on Sunday, handily winning by seven strokes. The win earned him a spot in this week's PGA Championship at Oakland Hills and an invitation to the winners-only Mercedes-Benz Championship next January in his home state of Hawaii.
McLachlin, who grew up in Honolulu and now lives in Scottsdale, Ariz., is the fourth player from Hawaii to win a PGA TOUR event, joining Ted Makalena (Hawaiian Open, 1966), David Ishii (Hawaiian Open, 1990) and Dean Wilson (The International, 2006).
