Players had to wait out a 97-minute rain delay on Friday to see whether they would be playing on the weekend at the AT&T National presented by Tiger Woods.
Turns out, a total of 83 players survived the cut. This is the seventh time this year that more than 81 players will be around for Saturday's third round.

Positive movers
Rocco Mediate -- America's darling was in danger of missing the cut after opening with a 73 that left him tied for 78th. He gave himself some breathing room, though, with Friday's 68 which brought him up 30 spots.
Corey Pavin -- Another one of the old guard, Pavin was on the outside looking in after a 73. He got back on track with an ace at the 10th hole in the second round on the way to a 67 that left him in a tie for 40th.
Steve Stricker -- The man who started his run toward second in the FedExCup here last year made a big jump Friday with a round of 64. He moved 49 spots into a tie for fifth, just four strokes off the lead held by Jeff Overton and Tom Pernice, Jr.

Negative movers
Notah Begay III -- Playing in just his fourth PGA TOUR event of the season, Begay was poised to take advantage when he opened with a 67. The four-time PGA TOUR champion couldn't maintain that momentum, though, shooting 10 strokes higher Friday.
Stuart Appleby -- He didn't miss the cut, but he left himself with a lot of work to do after sitting in sixth place after the end of the first round. The Aussie, who finished third here last year, couldn't get on track Friday and shot 74 to drop back into a tie for 49th.
Eric Axley -- He started the second round in a tie for 23rd after opening with a 69. But after making seven bogeys and just four birdies, Axley found himself dropping back to a tie for 62nd.

On the number
Joe Ogilvie -- When Ogilvie bogeyed his final hole, he let in the 13 players waiting anxiously at 3 over. Even with the bogey, though, the Duke grad was among them as his 67 moved him up from a tie for 109th.
Davis Love III -- Love, who qualified for the first British Open on Monday, spent much of the afternoon outside the cut line before his Atlantic Coast Conference rival let him back in. The 1997 PGA champion followed his round of even par with a 73.
Nicholas Thompson -- The 2005 Georgia Tech grad needed a good round and he got it -- shooting a 67 that included an eagle at the par-5 16th. Like Ogilvie, he was tied for 109th when the day began but will now be around for the third round, at least.

Notable missed cuts
Trevor Immelman -- The reigning Masters champ couldn't break par at Congressional this week and his round of 71 Friday left him one shot shy at 4 over.
Mike Weir -- The Canadian, who has three finishes among the top 20 in his last four starts, including a tie for second at the Memorial Tournament, found Congressional to be a test this week. The former Masters champ made seven bogeys Friday and finished at 8 over.
Steve Lowery -- Lowery, who beat Vijay Singh in a playoff at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am earlier this year, bogeyed his final hole Friday which turned out costing him a chance to play the weekend.
