Stewart Cink notched his fifth career victory at the 2008 Travelers Championship, and his first since winning the 2004 World Golf Championships-NEC Invitational.
He averaged just 27 putts per round this weekend. This is the lowest putts per round average for Cink since the 2006 World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational, when he also averaged 27 putts per round and finished second.
Cink held the lead after both the second and third rounds (he was two strokes back and tied for 12th after the first round). This is the third time in his career that he has held both the 36- and 54-hole leads. The other occurrences came at his victory in the 2004 World Golf Championships-NEC Invitational and the 2003 MCI Heritage, where he finished 10th.
