EDITOR'S NOTE: Hank Haney, who is Tiger Woods' swing coach, held a clinic with kids from The First Tee on Tuesday in Memphis at the TPC Southwind. When the event was over, he took a few minutes to talk about his most famous pupil.
PGATOUR.com: You know Tiger better than almost anyone -- and you've seen him do some amazing things. What would you say are his biggest strengths?
His mind: I'd say that his worth ethic is an incredible strength. The fact that he never quits is an incredible strength. Those are two things I attribute to his parents. Their coaching of him has been incredible. I think his father is the greatest coach who ever lived, and I think his son is arguably the greatest athlete ever. I have to give his father, and his mother, too, credit for his mental skills. They have been a huge asset to him.
Pressure putter: Tiger is a great, great pressure putter like Jack Nicklaus was. If you are going to win championships, and lot of them, you have got to make pressure putts.
Power: If you are going to be a really dominant player, you have to play a power game and have ability. Some of that is technique; most of it is work ethic. That's why he got so physically fit and strong. He has natural athletic ability, and with those muscles, he can produce a lot of speed.
Technique: He has a great swing, and he is a great ball-striker. The evidence is that the worst he's ever finished on TOUR in greens in regulation is second. I don't think you do that without having great technique.
