Sergio Garcia led the field in both greens in regulation and fairways hit at THE PLAYERS. Hitting greens on this difficult course allowed Garcia to avoid big numbers -- he made only 11 bogeys in four days, less than half of the field average. Although he had more total putts than most of the field, this reflects his ability to hit greens and two-putt for par while other players were scrambling to save par or make bogey. The Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass played the most difficult of the 26 courses played so far in 2008, averaging 2.3 strokes over par.

Coincidentally, the last player in a PGA TOUR event to lead the field in both categories and go on to win was 2006 PLAYERS champion Stephen Ames.
