Lickliter leaves Sony Open in Hawaii to welcome twin boys

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Frank Lickliter II was two under par after the first round of the SONY Open but missed his tee time on Friday. Both of them. Lickliter's longtime partner, Diane Owen, delivered twin boys at 4:29 and 4:30 a.m. Friday in Jacksonville. Lickliter withdrew from the tournament and with 4,690 miles to cover missed the births but was at the hospital that afternoon.

Lickliter thought he was safe in starting his 13th TOUR season in Hawaii this week since the boys were expected to arrive next month. Steele and Storm Lickliter checked in six weeks early though, each at four pounds and 17 inches. They and their mother were in fine health.
