JOHANNESBURG, South Africa (AP) -- In his first round as a pro, South African Tyrone Ferreira shot a 6-under 65 Thursday to share the lead at the Joburg Open. The event is co-sanctioned by the European Tour and southern Africa's Sunshine Tour.

Mark Murless also shot 65 at Royal Johannesburg and Kensington Golf Club. Ross McGowan, Pablo Larrazabal and Sion E. Bebb are tied for third at 66.

The 20-year-old Ferreira, who finished eighth at Tour School, had six birdies.

"I was getting it close to the flag and then the putts started dropping," he said.

Murless was 1 under through eight holes before picking up five straight birdies.

Darren Clarke shot 73.
