LA QUINTA, Calif. -- Harrison Frazar (69/Stadium) has played 300 tournaments in 11 years on the PGA TOUR without a victory. Frazar finished in the top 100 on the PGA TOUR money list for nine consecutive years from 1998-2006. In 2007, he finished 131st, and this year he was 163rd...

Derek Fathauer (67/Stadium), a 22-year-old from Jensen Beach, Fla., played college golf (2004-07) at the University of Louisville on the same team with his twin brother Daryl. In 2007, the Fathauer brothers played in the Ginn sur Mer Classic, becoming the first twins to play in a PGA TOUR event. Derek Fathauer tied for 69th at this year's U.S. Open at Torrey Pines before turning pro in September. He was exempt into the second stage of qualifying (because he played in the U.S. Open), where he finished second at Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Ga...

Tyler Aldridge (74/Stadium) made six cuts as a rookie on the Nationwide Tour to rank 171st on the money list this year. After completing the first round of the Preferred Health Systems Wichita Open in even par, Aldridge learned his wife, Kyla, had given birth to a son, Chandler, at 1:30 p.m., while he was on the course. Aldridge shot 80 in the second round and missed the cut...

Bryce Molder (72/Stadium), a four-time, first-team All-American at Georgia Tech (along with David Duval, Phil Mickelson and Gary Hallberg), was born with no left pectoral muscle and also has Poland Syndrome, a rare defect that made his left hand much smaller than his right. Molder was a member of the TOUR in 2002 and 2007 and already has a 2009 PGA TOUR card after graduating from the Nationwide Tour's top 25 but is trying to improve his status. He needs to finish 22nd or better to achieve his goal this week...

Molder

Aldridge and Molder were both bogey free through the first four rounds. Aldridge made his first error at his 80th hole, a double-bogey at "Alcatraz", the par-3 17th on the Stadium course, while Molder went 75 holes before his first bogey...

Brian Stuard (66/Stadium) posted Sunday's low round on the Stadium course and jumped from a tie for 33rd to a tie for sixth. Stuard had a career-best finish (tie for 17th) at the Northeast Pennsylvania Classic on the Nationwide Tour this year, but that may not have been his career highlight. Stuard made Nationwide Tour history when he was joined by Chris Stroud (67/Stadium), Jonathan Fricke (75/Stadium) and Peter Tomasulo in making aces in the first round of the Utah Championship, the most aces in one round...

When Jay Williamson (73/Stadium) lost a playoff to Kenny Perry at this year's John Deere Classic, he moved from No. 158 to 108 on the PGA TOUR Money List. Six consecutive missed cuts to finish the season dropped him all the way to No. 137. Williamson has played 325 events on the PGA TOUR with $5,271,830 in career earnings...

Webb Simpson (69/Stadium), a 23-year-old who graduated from Wake Forest University in May and immediately turned professional, has played six events on the PGA TOUR and eight events on the Nationwide Tour this year. A tie for 31st at the Arnold Palmer Invitational was a highlight, along with two second-place finishes on the Nationwide Tour, where he shot 22 of 26 rounds below par. Simpson, who is one of six siblings, has posted four of five rounds in the 60s...

Begay

Notah Begay III (63/Nicklaus) posted Sunday's low round on the Nicklaus course. Begay, who has his brother Clint on the bag this week, made the largest move of the day advancing from tied for 95th to tied for 21st. "I saw Harrison's great round yesterday, and it reminded me of my 59, and I thought 'I can do that'," said Begay, who scored 59 in the second round of the Nationwide Tour's 1998 Dominion Open and tied for sixth...

While the best move of the day belonged to Begay, the player with the biggest decline was Patrick Sheehan (82/Stadium) who went from tied for 15th to tied for 126th. Sheehan's round included one birdie, two bogeys, a double-bogey, a triple-bogey and a quadruple-bogey. Sheehan posted four rounds in the 60s before Sunday's 82...

The fifth-round scoring average was 71.938 on the Stadium course and 69.462 on the Nicklaus course. The cumulative scoring average on the Stadium course is 71.321 while the cumulative average on the Nicklaus course is 69.359. There were three times as many rounds over par on the Stadium course as there were on the Nicklaus course -- 36 compared to 12...

Scott Fawcett, a 35-year-old amateur from Dallas, Texas, is one of only six players who came through pre qualifying, first stage and second stage to make it to the finals. Fawcett is the only amateur in the field and is also the only player to have shot four identical scores through the first four rounds. Fawcett added a 2-under 70 in the fifth round on the Nicklaus course to break his streak of 72s...

The oldest competitor in the field this week is Olin Browne (73/Stadium) who was 49 years, 6 months and 10 days at the beginning of the PGA TOUR Qualifying Tournament. This is Browne's fourth trip toq-school (1995, 2003, 2004). The youngest competitor is Troy Merritt (71/Nicklaus) at 22 years, 1 month and 8 days. Merritt, who resides in Boise, Idaho, is here for the first time...

Coles

Ten players recorded bogey-free rounds on Sunday, five on the Stadium course and five on the Nicklaus course...

When these venues were used in 2006, George McNeill won with a score of 23 under. Forty players qualified for the PGA TOUR that year (35 and ties were accepted) with a score of 8 under or better. Forty-nine players (the next nearest number to 50) shot 1 over or better to earn exempt status on the Nationwide Tour. All remaining players earned conditional status on the Nationwide Tour. After five rounds in 2008, the leader is at 27 under, the top 25 and ties are currently 14-under and the next 48 (number nearest 50) are 10-under...

There is no cut after any of the six rounds, and all competitors will receive some level of status for 2009 on either the PGA TOUR or Nationwide Tour, including those competitors who withdrew. Richard Johnson withdrew prior to the start of the fourth-round and will thus be given a last-place status. Paul Gow withdrew before the start of the fifth-round and will receive status immediately above Johnson...

The Jack Nicklaus Tournament course will be used for Monday's sixth round for the first time in PGA TOUR National Qualifying Tournament history. The PGA West Stadium course has traditionally been the final-round site in the past...

The purse for the 2008 PGA TOUR National Qualifying Tournament is $1,057,500 with the winner receiving $50,000.
