The Nationwide Tour continues in the northwest this week with the playing of the Oregon Classic in Eugene. Winning in Eugene has sent seven of the previous nine winners of the event to the PGA TOUR the following season.

• Look for a lot of birdies this week in Oregon. Shadow Hills CC yielded 1,749 birdies last year?only four courses on Tour gave up more.

• Including this week, there are only five events left on the Nationwide Tour to secure a spot among The 25 and earn a promotion to the PGA TOUR. D.J. Brigman is the man currently on the hot seat in position number 25 with $162,291 in earnings. The next five players on the list?Ewan Porter, Bryan DeCorso, Spencer Levin, Matt Every and Bob May?are all within $10,000 of Brigman.

The victory by Camilo Villegas at the BMW Championship recently was the 232nd win on the PGA TOUR by a former Nationwide Tour player.
