Deutsche Bank Championship Raises $7 million for Charity

Jan. 30, 2007

NORTON, MASS. (Jan. 30, 2007) -- The Deutsche Bank Championship and its partners raised a record $2.6 million for New England Charities and the Tiger Woods Learning Center during the 2006 Championship, $1 million more than was raised in 2005. The Deutsche Bank Championship is a highlight of the PGA TOUR schedule and in just four years has raised $7 million for local and national charities. In 2007, the tournament becomes one of four exclusive members of the high-profile PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedExCup, further raising the Championship's profile both regionally and nationally.

The primary charitable beneficiary of the Deutsche Bank Championship is the Tiger Woods Learning Center. In addition, many local New England charities benefit from the Championship's programs, including Artists for Humanity, G-Row Boston (Girls Row), St. Mary's Women and Children's Center, Young Entrepreneurs Alliance (YEA), Mother Caroline Academy, Nativity Preparatory School, Partners for Youth with Disabilities, Tenacity, Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston and Providence, Bottomline, Norton/Attleboro YMCA, Hockomock YMCA, Boston Cares and the Stop & Shop Family Foundation.

"The Deutsche Bank Championship keeps getting better every year, but nothing is more gratifying than our record-breaking achievements in charitable giving," said Seth Waugh, CEO of Deutsche Bank Americas. "We are committed to being a good corporate citizen in the communities where we live and work, so we are extremely proud to support such a worthy group of organizations."

"I was really pleased to win the Deutsche Bank Championship over Labor Day weekend. It's such a great tournament, and we're proud of the partnership with Deutsche Bank in their support of our Learning Center," Tiger Woods said.

"The primary purpose of the Deutsche Bank Championship is to serve its local New England community by exhausting all efforts to raise money for its charities, and I am extremely pleased with these impressive results," Deutsche Bank Championship Director Eric Baldwin said. "The Tiger Woods Learning Center and all of the Championship's valuable contributors have formed an indispensable team that continues to make a difference with our children every day."

In addition to the several charities that galvanize local efforts, the Deutsche Bank Championship also supports many other local organizations throughout the year through events, live and silent auctions, youth clinics and educational programs. The Deutsche Bank Championship also takes pride in contributing to communities it directly impacts, including the towns of Norton and Mansfield, Mass.

The PGA TOUR reached the $1 billion milestone in charitable contributions in 2005. Since the TOUR's first recorded donation of $10,000 in 1938, more than 2,000 charities and one million people have been helped annually.
