Scenarios : Top 30 | Top 70 | Number Crunch: Children's Miracle Network Classic

There is much at stake at this week's PGA TOUR Fall Series finale at Disney's Magnolia and Palm courses in Orlando, Fla. In addition to shares of the $4.6 million purse, players will be competing for eligibility and position on TOUR for the 2008 season.

• Top 125 -- Players who finish within the top 125 on the money list will earn PGA TOUR cards for the next season, making them eligible for FedExCup events, including tournaments like the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic, Verizon Heritage, THE PLAYERS Championship, and AT&T National.

The Magic Number

The final 125th position on the money list after the Children's Miracle Network Classic is projected to be approximately $775,000. This estimate is derived by analyzing trends in historical data maintained by the PGA TOUR, coupled with current year performance and purse sizes.

The table below shows players who are entered in this week's final Fall Series event, and how they will need to perform in order to have a realistic chance of finishing within the top 125 on the money list. The negative numbers (red in parentheses) indicate that a player has already earned more than the amount projected for the 125th position.

This projection could fluctuate, however, and players close to the threshold will need to perform well this week to keep their PGA TOUR card for the 2008 season.

Perhaps the most exciting aspect of this year's final event is that every player in the field has the chance to earn their TOUR card for 2008, whether by finishing within the top 125 on the money list or by winning the event outright.

Players to watch:

Kevin Stadler, and Craig Kanada are currently outside of the top 125 need a solid performance to move up

• J.P. Hayes is all but assured a spot within the top 125 if he can perform well on Thursday and Friday and make the cut

Mathias Gronberg and Ted Purdy are currently within the top 125, but need to post good scores all four days to maintain their positions
