Enotes for AT&T Pebble Beach After missing the cut in his first two career starts at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am, Mike Weir has found the trio of courses more to his liking recently. In his last seven starts in the event, the lefty has six top-10 finishes. He's finished in the top four in each of his last four starts at Pebble. Don't look for a playoff this week. There have been only two playoffs in the last 20 years at Pebble Beach, the last one coming in 1992. This week's AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am features Champions Tour players Tom Watson, Peter Jacobsen, Scott Simpson and Lon Hinkle. In addition, the field will also include the sons of Champions Tour players Jose Maria Canizares (Alejandro), Craig Stadler (Kevin) and Raymond Floyd (Robert). The fifth hole at Poppy Hills, a 426-yard par-4, was the toughest hole on the 2006 PGA TOUR playing to a stroke average of 4.492. The 106-yard par-3 seventh hole at Pebble Beach might not be long, but it can provide plenty of drama. You can see every shot this week on LIVE@ AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am on PGATOUR.com. Charles Warren has quietly been off to a strong start. He is ranked No. 1 in three different stat categories (Putting, All-Around and Eagles) and is in the top 10 in three others (Driving Distance, Total Driving and Birdies). Robert Allenby has finished in the top 10 in each of his three starts this year. He had only three top-10 finishes in all of 2006. Looking for a possible first-time winner this week at Pebble Beach? How about Nick Watney? The California native has shot par-or-better in all 13 rounds this season on TOUR and finished in a tie for seventh last year at Pebble Beach. The AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am will feature six lefties this week, including past champion Phil Mickelson. The others are Eric Axley, Steve Flesch, B.J. Staten, Bubba Watson and Mike Weir. |
