Fans Congratulate Bateman Editor's Note: Brian Bateman won his first PGA TOUR title at the Buick Open. Here are some of the e-mails PGATOUR.com received congratulating Bateman, who will head to Hawaii for the season-opening Mercedes-Benz Championship in 2008. Congratulations on the big win. I am just a guy watching on TV, but it was really fun to watch you do it! Thanks for the thrills and best of luck in the future! George I didn't know my heart would pump like that watching golf. What a fantastic performance today! Paul Congratulations! I'm a Neville/LSU grad and a very poor golfer, but I love to follow your scores. I'm glad to see you win. I know you worked very hard for it. Only more to come. Ethan Everyone here in Monroe and at Bayou Desiard is very proud of you. What a great stretch you had coming down 16, 17 and 18. Three clutch putts. Way to go. I hope there are many more to come. Stacey Emotional 12' putt! Emotional win! Emotional hug with your wife! Emotional Buick Open trophy! We'll be watching you with your emotional ticket to the '08 Masters. Bill You have a lot people here in your hometown pulling for you every week. You made us all proud this whole week. What an exciting finish! I don't think I have ever jumped out of my seat watching a golf tournament before! Thanks for giving us someone to pull for. Greg Congratulations, it brought tears to my eyes, too. I knew you could do it. I look for great things ahead. I said a little prayer for you Saturday night. I am glad for you. John Congratulations from Baton Rouge. Geaux Tigers. Can't wait to follow you at The Masters. Scott From one LSU grad to another, great to watch you roll in that birdie putt from our living room in Baton Rouge this afternoon. Brad Congratulations on your first win! I was your walking scorer on Thursday the week before at the Travelers Championship. I was thrilled to see you doing so well this week and delighted to see those putts going in! Keep up the good work; perseverance and hard work do pay off! Mary Jane I knew it was only a matter of time before you got it all together for four rounds. I hope the wins start flooding in for you. Jody I think everyone in Monroe was watching. My house shook when the birdie dropped. Congratulations. Daran You the man. Thank you. I am a nine handicap trying everyday. I do not think people realize how well you guys golf every day. Your victory will inspire me. Brian Congrats on your BIG win. Being a resident of Northeast Louisiana, I pull for you in every tournament. This week you made this area of the state proud. Lemar I know you have worked your tail off to get to this point. You earned it. Enjoy it and never stop loving the game. Chad Atta boy! You're a true humble gentleman and champ. The LSU community is mighty proud of you. Congrats and many more from an LSU alum. Geaux Tigers! Troy I couldn't be happier for you and Dawn. WAY TO GO! You have completed the dream for all of us Monroe-bred golfers who live vicariously through your journey on the PGA TOUR! Nic Remember The Travelers? It was the first tourney I'd brought my boys to (Sam 8, Austin 7). We were right there on Thursday when you drove into the brush on the short 15th and had a hard time getting out. Sam (who has mild autism) actually gathered some of the sticks that came flying out as souvenirs! Anyway, even though you made an impression on them that day that I'm sure you wish you hadn't, we were all glad to see you bounced back so well! Geoff Congratulations on your first PGA TOUR win! I was watching you on Sunday and pulling for you all the way. Keep it up. I hope you win a lot more. New fan, Tyson You are one of the players that I have followed through the years even when your PGA TOUR status changed from year to year. I really like to see the players that have earned their "stripes" the hard way make good on a lot of years of hard work. Good luck the rest of the year and have fun at The Masters next year. Rob Congratulations on your big win! I am a lifelong resident of Ouachita Parish and have been following your PGA TOUR career since you first broke through qualifying school. I commend you for your patience and persistence. Congratulations again and best wishes for a superb future in the game. Morgan I have been following you since I saw you 4 years ago at the Shell Houston Open. It has been a long journey, but I believe you are entering the best part of your golf career. Pete |
