Change at top of FedExCup standings for second straight week PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. -- For the second straight week, there has been a change at the top of the FedExCup standings. John Rollins vaulted from sixth to No. 1 on the list with his second runner-up finish in the last three weeks. Rollins, who lost in a playoff at the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic and was one shot away from victory on Sunday at the FBR Open, has 5,872 points. ![]() Aaron Baddeley has jumped into the top five of the FedExCup points. Vijay Singh, who had seized the top spot with his season-opening win at the Mercedes-Benz Champion and remained there until Charles Howell II displaced him a week ago, trails Rollins by 314 points. Singh moved into second in the FedExCup standings on the strength of Sunday's seventh-place finish at the TPC Scottsdale. Howell, who tied for 23rd, is now third. All of the top three players have more than 5,000 points. Rollins, who played the first five events of the season, is taking this week off, as is Howell, who just finished a string of four straight. Singh, though, is playing in the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am. Aaron Baddeley leapt from 90th in the standings to fourth with the 4,500 points he earned for his win at the FBR Open. The Aussie was the only newcomer to the top 10, although Jeff Quinney, who saw his hopes of victory dashed with a double-bogey at the 17th hole on Sunday jumped from 10th to eighth in the FedExCup after finishing solo third. Bart Bryant's fourth-place showing at the TPC Scottsdale moved him from 20th to 11th in the standings. Heath Slocum continued his steady climb with his second-straight top-10 finish that enabled him to climb seven spots to 12th. While they are not threatening the top 20 in the FedExCup yet, Dean Wilson, Robert Garrigus, Vaughn Taylor, Jason Bohn and Brett Quigley also gained considerable ground after playing well at the FBR Open. Wilson moved from 87th to 38th with his tie for eighth. Garrigus, Taylor and Bohn were tied for 11th and moved up 32, 61 and 90 spots, respectively, to Nos. 39, 46 and 54. Quigley's tie for 14th, meanwhile, took him from 117th to 59th in the FedExCup standings. Copyright 2007 PGATOUR.com. All rights reserved. |
