Lightning halts Joburg Open with Canete leading by one shot JOHANNESBURG, South Africa (AP) -- Argentina's Ariel Canete topped the leader board at 12 under after nine holes when thunderstorms forced the suspension of third-round play Saturday in the Joburg Open. A total of 36 players will return early on Sunday to complete the third round. Canete birdied three of his final four holes to take a one-stroke lead over South Africans Andrew McLardy and Hennie Otto. McLardy completed 11 holes Saturday, and Otto finished eight on the Royal Johannesburg and Kensington Golf Club's East Course The tournament is sanctioned by the European and Southern Africa tours.
