CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. -- Jack Ferenz (Vero Beach, Fla.), Rick Rhoden (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.) and Scott Masingill (Payette, Idaho) share the lead after the third round of the Champions Tour National Qualifying Tournament at TPC Eagle Trace. The trio has a 54-hole total of 6-under-par 210.

Ferenz posted his third straight sub-par round in the tournament on Thursday, a 3-under-par 69, to move into a share of the lead with Rhoden and Masingill, who were the first-round co-leaders.

Ferenz made seven starts on the Champions Tour in 2007 with his best finish a tie for 9th at the Dick's Sporting Goods Open in July.

Rhoden was in a position to remain in sole possession of the lead, as he was after 36 holes on Wednesday, but made a double bogey on the final hole to drop back into the three-way tie for the lead. He finished with a round of even-par 72.

Greg Hickman posted the day's low round, a 6-under-par 66 that was an 11-shot swing from his second-round 5-over-par 77. His round on Thursday included a stretch where he birdied seven of eight holes. His effort moved him up 28 spots from a tie for 44th to a tie for 16th heading into Friday's final round.

Following the completion of Friday's final round, the low-30 players and ties earn spots into open qualifiers at all co-sponsored events on the Champions Tour in 2008.
