Nationwide Tour Graduate Q&A archive

Editor's Note: Chez Reavie finished 18th on the Nationwide Tour money list. In front of record crowds at one of four events remaining from the original 1990 Nationwide Tour schedule, Reavie shot a 5-under-par 67 to finish at 18 under to win the Knoxville Open presented by Food City for his first career Nationwide Tour victory.

Reavie sat down recently with PGATOUR.com's Dave Lagarde for a game of 10 questions.

1. If the PGA TOUR allows music on the first tee what song will be used to introduce you?

Reavie: Hell's Bells by AC/DC.

2. What was your most embarrassing moment on a golf course?

Reavie: Making a 12 on a hole in my first PGA TOUR tournament. I hit about five balls in the water. It was a Tin Cup moment.

3. You have the power to alter any rule in the game of golf. What is it and why do you want to change it?

Reavie: I'd make all divots in the fairway ground under repair and allow a drop.

4. Who would you most like to hit balls next to next year, and why?

Reavie: Geoff Ogilvy. He's a good friend of mine. We play and practice a lot in Scottsdale in the off-season. And you could add Aaron Baddeley and Paul Casey to the list.

5. Do you have any oddball superstitions? If not, what's the strangest one you've heard of?

Reavie: Not really, but I will follow the same routine -- eat at the same restaurant, get up at the same time -- if I play well. I will change my clothes though.

6. When your putt rolls in to win your first PGA TOUR title, will you go with the Tiger fist pump, the Mickelson mini-vertical jump or something a little crazier?

Reavie: Probably a slight fist pump and a deep breath.

7. Other than winning a tournament, what would make next year a success?

Reavie: Go out and play the way I know I can. I really want to be consistent and learn something every week.

8. You've been granted a 60-minute sit-down with any figure in the world of golf, living or dead. What's your first question and to whom would you address it?

Reavie: Ben Hogan. I love the way he never backed down. I'd ask how he stayed motivated and how he learned to practice with such a purpose.

9. What is your wildest golf dream?

Reavie: It was my first golf nightmare. I woke up in a sweat it was so intense. I've got a shot over water and it doesn't matter what club I use. The ball just goes up and is knocked straight down into the water.

10. What is the most valuable lesson about your profession you learned on the Nationwide Tour?

Reavie: Patience and how to pace myself so I can be as fresh in the fourth week as I am in the first.
